Christopher SHARP - UK
GREAT ART PRIZE / PRIX GREAT ART

Christopher SHARP studied a Bachelor's in Contemporary Arts at the Nottingham Trent University and attained a Master's in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins, London.

Excerpt of Artist's press release : "His practice is quite experimental incorporating references to the natural world, mysticism, physics and underground music. He is particularly interested in the interrelationship of mind, body and nature traditionally expressed through 2D mediums, from ancient cave paintings to modern painting, as a kind of locus for self discovery. Approaching art as a kind of arbiter between man, nature and what Jung called the 'Numinous,' a term inspired by Otto's 'Mysterium Tremendum,' his work attempts to form a means to reflect the enigmatic unity of things. An elusive connectedness informs a certain direction to a practice where the landscape remains central, but draws the infinite fluctuation of consciousness into its orbit to create compositions born out of a methodological approach including, drawing, painting, sound, performance, poetry, photography and site specific."
